Si Wrigley has a hobby that I deeply envy!

Si Wrigley has been visiting these posts ....so Si.... I went to your page and picked out a great picture to share with our classmates.... Wish I was right there with you! Now that I am on the East Coast I miss my Truckee River trips and those glorious rainbow trout and brown trout on my line! ..............Invite me!!

Today we remember two of our graduates who will miss our June event.

So we will,  time to time on our way to June, celebrate the lives of some of our graduates who have already been cut short on our journey to this 50th year of our lives as St Mary's grads.

Two of these were known to us all   -  Frank Sampson and Orrin Wright.....one on the sporting field or court and one on the sideline celebrating those field and court accomplishments.  We remember both of these gentlemen for who they were and what they did to make our lives just that much better having known them and having the experience of them as what we have come to know as a St Mary's man.  Frank and Orrin...you did us well.  We celebrate you both.  Wish you both could be there in June!

Happy 94th birthday to Jon Hemp's mother Betty !!!

Soooo....The Hemp family has gotten a big splash in the St Mary's Annual Report to Donors....seems they have a big family (we DID know that!) and they are being recognized by the SM community! Congrats to Jon and all his brothers for their St Mary's history........ And Happy 94th Birthday to their mom Betty!

I started to ask for pictures of the GRADs and their significant others and ///WHAMMO...they start to arrive!

Here is Don Attix and his wife Karen at Machu Picchu in central Peru just a few weeks ago.  Thank you Don and Karen is apparently equally as ambitious as you in exploring!

  Now I (Brian Moyer) have to say I got to see Machu Picchu too, Don,  But I arrived in 1964...right after our graduation as I went to school at the Catholic University in Lima (Universidad Catolica del Peru) taking Latin American Economics and Political History.  My aunt and uncle were in the State Dept Foreign Service at the time and knew of a program at the University linked to Loyola Univ of Chicago.....so I applied to Loyola Univ for the exchange student program and got in.....right after gradation I flew to Lima and started my university life.... Thank you to Mr Delgado for all those Spanish classes !!!    Do I remember any Spanish now ....so little.... ooohhh so little.

our 96th recognition/appreciation steak barbecues for active duty Military Working Dog Handlers was held at Naval Base Ventura on 16 November. Along the way, we were graced with some pretty incredible supporters . . . like our own John T. Dowd at Davis-Monthan AFB in 2010.

Here is an accomplishment Brian Moyer has to share - a new published textbook

So I guess I will be one of the first to share a recent accomplishment - a textbook on medical imaging applied to the development of drug and biologics (drugs like stem cells and recombinant proteins) as they progress to FDA submissions.  It came out at the end of November after a three year effort. I was the lead editor but also wrote 5 of the 13 chapters.  A real nice international collection of authors and applications in nearly all of the different imaging platforms like MRI, PET, and many more.  I have been in this field for 40 years now and this was a distillation of my entire experience in the field. Exciting to now have it as an item I can hold in my hand....already working on volume 2 now.   It is available via Springer - http://www.springer.com/biomed/book/978-1-4614-8246-8

So this is a great set of pictures on how Peter entertains us...either by his intimidation on the football field (quite formidable) or his means of hunting ....I think in both cases the ducks haven't a chance !   Now I need to get John Evans and Mike Benner to send me their hunting pics (I will take whatever!) so we can do an "up close and personal" on how we have stayed pretty much the same over the years!!!

SMCHS '64 Grads: Memories of the 1963 Football Season - Gene Pisenti's last year as our coach.

SMCHS '64 Grads: Today I found a bunch pf pictures of our 1963 football team and while that was Pisenti"s last year as our football coach and our losing season, we had a great team with talent that just had too many  injuries (Kris Dern in the first game against San Rafael with a shoulder injury) and they just kept happening.  The talen on the other side was also too much with El Ceritto's Larry Plantz and then there was Riordan and Bellarmine...perennial Bellermine!!!  We gave it all a shot ....especially Frank Sampson ...we remember Frank as that energy that kept the team trying and was clearly one of our inspirations....Thank you Frank!!

Today (Dec 1) is Tim Turner's Birthday! I'd like to get everyone's birthday and post a Classmate Greeting ...

So Tim Turner has his birthday revealed to the class today..... his age?...well I will let Tim tell everyone but suffice it to say is IS the OLDEST in our class!  I celebrate you Tim...Happy Birthday and many many more.
